Last Saturday was a good day to be in Pearl

Posted

Last Saturday was a great day to be in Pearl. The Pearl Bluegrass had quite a few great bands to play on the stage, and the kitchen reported a wonderful crowd. Ilene was able to be there, and she said it was so good to see so many bluegrass friends attending. The bookstore also reported that lots of good folks came by. Everyone is looking forward to the next bluegrass event and bookstore opening on Jan. 4, 2025!

Anyone who would like to make a donation to the Pearl Community Center can contact Rhonda or Garrett Dickey. You can message Rhonda on Facebook to find out where to send the donation. The money collected goes toward the upkeep and maintenance of the Center. All donations are greatly appreciated.

The Pearl Church of Christ reported an attendance of 41 souls last Sunday. Linda said it was so great to have so many kiddos! It was also reported that Edward Schaub had an excellent lesson (but when has he not?). Edward and Judi have been coming to Pearl for over 40 years, and they are deeply loved and appreciated.

There are a number of “Pearlites” experiencing health issues at this time, so please keep them in prayer. Just ask the Lord for their healing in your prayers, and He will know who you mean.

Also, please keep all medical staff in your prayers! Those people work so hard. I have had some pretty intense health issues for a couple of weeks now, which required a trip to the ER and other appointments. The nurses, doctors, and technicians were so caring and thorough, even though they were understaffed and overworked. If it’s that way in deep East Texas, then I would imagine it’s that way in most other places as well. They all deserve our prayers. And, if you are so inclined, a little treat basket or some other Christmas remembrance would probably be a day (or night) brightener for all of them!

This week’s Bible verse comes from John 1:14—The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. NIV
