Just one more gift to wrap...then maybe one more

Posted

Merry Christmas! Wishing you the joy of the season that lasts throughout the years to come! “For unto us a child is born; unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6. Amen and Amen!

It seems that everyone in Pearl is busy preparing for Christmas week. Linda has been busy (as usual) preparing little gifts for the kids at church and other Christmasy-type projects. I’ve also heard that many of the ladies are baking, wrapping, and cleaning for Christmas visitors. Others are dealing with health issues and need our many prayers! Actually, we ALL need prayer each and every day! Please don’t forget your sweet friends in Pearl in yours. We thank the Lord for all of you who support the Pearl activities and love the Pearlites as their own. You have our prayers, too!

This Pearl News is a bit short today as I am also preparing for Christmas visitors and visiting throughout the next two weeks. Just when I think I’m finished with wrapping, there’s one more … and then one more! Plus, I’ve completed two crochet projects, two huck weaving projects, and two cross stitch projects. And now I realize that they have to be wrapped, too (sigh). I am not a great “wrapper,” but we do what we must to do the best we can. The fun part for me has been the creation of the finished products. I love retirement! I can craft to my heart’s content, and I try to pray for the recipient throughout the process. Yes, retirement is mighty fine. Aging is not always fun, but the perk of retirement surely makes it more than bearable. God is good, yes, He is!

This week’s Bible verse comes from Luke 1:30-33—But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a Son, and you are to call Him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High. The Lord will give him the throne of His father David, and He will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; His kingdom will never end. NIV
