The City of Gatesville and Keep Gatesville Beautiful will dedicate the Highway 36 Monument on Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 4-5 p.m. The monument is located on Highway 36 across from Walgreens.
After the City of Gatesville was presented with the Governor’s Community Achievement Award in May of 2021, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) awarded a grant for the construction of the monument at no cost to the city.
The award was based on the City of Gatesville and Keep Gatesville Beautiful’s efforts in recycling, litter prevention, and beautification.
The monument was completed earlier this year and is in perfect shape for the dedication to honor the public and those who helped to make the monument possible.
There will be on-site parking for the event.
