During the March 24 meeting of the Gatesville Independent School District Board of Trustees, Isabel Cook was featured in the “Spotlight” and recognized for her help and devotion during the Christmas on Marshall event.
GISD Superintendent Dr. Barrett Pollard made the following observations about Cook:
We would like to recognize sophomore Isabel Cook for her dedication to the Christmas on Marshall event. Specifically, Isabel stayed long after the event ended to help vendors take down their displays and load their vehicles. Although the event officially ended at 1 p.m., the last vendor did not leave until around 2:30. Some of our vendors were a little older and moved a little slower, so Isabel helped them pack and load their trucks and trailers with great understanding and kindness. In addition, it was raining during that time, but it did not dampen Isabel's kind spirit. Isabel did it all with a smile. When Dr. Scott Harper thanked Isabel for staying to help well past what was expected, she said, "I don't like to see people struggle." Michelle Martin noted how natural and sincere Isabel's actions were that day. Mrs. Shoaf stated, "Izzie is very kind and helpful." For all of these reasons, we would like to honor Isabel Cook as this month's student spotlight.
