Gatesville resident with ties to gang arrested, missing person discovered

A Gatesville resident with direct ties to a criminal gang was arrested by the Coryell County Sheriff’s Office. During the arrest, authorities also discovered a person who has been listed as missing since January.

According to a statement released by the Coryell County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, March 5, the Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Organized Crime Unit (OCU), Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, and the Texas Anti-Gang Office executed a high-risk warrant at a hotel in Gatesville to arrest 38-year-old Jerry Neil Loer, Jr.

During the successful apprehension of Loer, SWAT team members found narcotics in plain view within the room, as well as recovering an adult female who has been listed as a missing person by the Gatesville Police Department since the beginning of the year.

Loer was booked into the Coryell County Jail for offenses, including Administrative Release Violation – Blue Warrant, Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1 under one gram in a Drug Free Zone – Third-degree Felony, Possession of Marijuana under two ounces in a Drug Free Zone – Class A Misdemeanor, Felon in Possession of a Firearm – Third-degree Felony, and Tampering with Physical Evidence - Third-degree Felony.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional information will be released as the Coryell County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the matter.
