The Exchange Club of Gatesville is currently requesting nominations for their Golden Deed Awards, which will include “The Book of Deeds.” The deadline for nominations is March 20. The Golden Deeds ceremony will be held on Monday, March 31.
The club members are currently seeing nominations in the following categories:
Book of Golden Deeds: Their most prestigious award, the Book of Golden Deeds Award recognizes dedicated volunteers who, over several years, have given endless hours of their time and talents toward making their communities better places to live.
Proudly We Hail: The recipient of this award has consistently and regularly flown the American flag properly at their home or business during the past year (or years).
Senior Citizen: Many older Americans are still vital, contributing members of society, who deserve to be properly recognized for their achievements. A special award of some kind, presented to a senior citizen who has performed an outstanding service to the community or excelled in some way, can serve to not only honor and reward that individual, but also to heighten community awareness and appreciation of the many important contributions of older citizens.
Health Professional: This person is a healthcare professional from any field that has performed their job with exceptional dedication and compassion.
CARE Award: This award goes to any individual who has contributed to the care and enrichment of services to children in the community.
Volunteer efforts and career excellence are very important to society and should not go unnoticed. The Gatesville Exchange Club recognizes dedicated volunteers and outstanding professionals who give endless hours of their time, skills, and talents toward making their communities better places to live.
It is important to choose a person who is sincere about helping the community, has an exceptional track record of continued, unselfish giving, and enjoys volunteering to help others. The recipient can be from any profession or a member of any organization, including the Exchange Club. He or she can be from any walk of life and should be someone who deserves acclaim but rarely receives it.
Other awards at the Golden Deeds Banquet include peace officer of the year, firefighter of the year, educator of the year, along with community volunteers, youth of the month students, scholarship winners, and the ACE award.
Nomination forms are available at The Gatesville Messenger and the Gatesville City Library. Nomination forms can be emailed to josugg@embarqmail.com or nathan@scottfh.com.
