First Day Hike at Mother Neff State Park

Posted

Visitors started off the new year on New Year's Day by hiking and exploring the natural beauty of Mother Neff State Park. The duration of the hike was about five hours.

Young and old alike enjoyed miles on the trails at Mother Neff. Visitors explored the park at their own pace and learned a little about the history of the park along the way. Interpretive stations were found throughout the park which shared information about the park's history and natural resources.

Once visitors completed their hike, many came back by the visitor’s center to share their experience with the park rangers. The Leon River Dutch Oven Gang was on hand serving up some black-eyed peas for good luck in the coming year.
