Gatesville’s Exchange and Lions Clubs recently hosted their 24th Annual Golf Scramble on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Gatesville Country Club.
Team prizes, based on a 14-team field, were $500 for first place, $400 for fourth place, and $200 for eighth place.
This year there were 19 teams competing for three cash prizes.
The first-place team was Landon Cole, Wayland Pruitt, Carson Gerdel, and Dylan Densman shooting 54 for the 18 holes.
In fourth place, Team Stuard, included Austin Stuard, Braden Luensmann, Rhett Mitchell, and Nathan Johnson.
In eighth place, Team Matthews, included Kyle Matthews, Sy Sheets, Zach Lynch, and Holden Seward.
Additionally, four Army teams from North Fort Cavazos participated in the tournament. Local sponsors paid for all the entry fees for the soldiers.
The golfers enjoyed a hearty lunch of brisket cooked by Dr. Britt Clay, sausage, baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, along with all the fixings and desserts.
