A vehicle that crashed into two utility poles in Gatesville on Monday left multiple residents without power, according to The Gatesville Police Department.
The incident occurred in the 2200 block of East Main Street, which led to closures in both directions between the 1900 and 2200 blocks near Poco Automotive.
Gatesville police said in a Facebook post that Main Street is back open with the exception of the westbound outside lane. This lane will remain closed until Texas New Mexico Power (TNMP) restores power and replaces the utility poles.
As of 12:40 p.m., police say it could take three to four hours before power is restored for some customers.
Lieutenant Cody Lee said in an email that the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Lee said police do not have an exact cause for the crash at this time, but he suspects it could be related to a medical condition.
