The E.R. Carpenter Foundation awarded CASA of Bell and Coryell Counties $25,000 in grant funding to assist with the advocacy work that CASA provides to abused and neglected children in Bell and Coryell Counties.
Thomas Stinson, the company’s Division Manager in Temple, made the presentation to CASA Executive Director Kevin Kyle, Director of Volunteer Engagement, Maddy Ramos, and Outreach Coordinator, Corinne Donnelly. Grant funds provided by the foundation will be used to recruit and train volunteer advocates so they can effectively serve children who have been placed in foster care. Expanding the number of volunteers will directly support CASA’s mission to serve more children in need.
E.R. Carpenter is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of comfort cushioning products that include bedding, foam, cushions, carpeting, and other packaging products. The Carpenter Foundation invests in local agencies and projects that have the opportunity to significantly impact needs in the community. CASA trains volunteers to provide a voice for abused and neglected children that are placed in the foster care system.
“Having the support of the Carpenter Foundation has allowed us to add quality staff members and enabled us to grow our volunteer base the past few years” stated Kevin Kyle, Executive Director at CASA. “Our ability to serve more children depends on the work our staff does to recruit and retain great volunteer advocates, and this would not be possible without the Carpenter Foundation”.
Stinson added, “CASA volunteer advocates are dedicated to making a difference for the children in foster care. I’m impressed with the work they do and how they have to make sure these kids in foster care have someone looking out for their best interests. It’s important to know that our funds help make a direct impact on increasing the number of kids CASA can serve and that’s why we support this wonderful cause.”
