Brenda Rapp, age 79, passed away peacefully at home in San Marcos. 

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 29, at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville, with Pastor Tim Crosby officiating. Interment followed at Restland Cemetery. 

Brenda Joyce Rapp was born on Feb. 28, 1946, in Texas City, and throughout her life, called Fort Worth, Gatesville, and San Marcos home. She dedicated her career to helping others as a Medication Technician at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice until her retirement in 2009. She was a devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church in Gatesville, where she found community and faith. In her later years, she volunteered with Dr. Noah Greenspan and the Ultimate Pulmonary Wellness Foundation, continuing her lifelong commitment to service and helping people as an administrator and moderator for their Facebook page about Pulmonary Wellness. Brenda was known for her stories, her compassion, advice, and encouragement. She had a deep love for reading, genealogy, religion, and mysteries—interests that brought her joy and fulfillment. 

Brenda was preceded in death by Mark Andrew Rapp; parents, Lucille Goad Wilson and Herman Dempsey Williams; sister, Wanda Williams Parker and husband, Garvin; nephew, Heath Hill; and niece, Glynda Holden.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Rapp; daughter, Heather Prangnell and husband, David; sister, Gail Tippit and husband, Tom; grandchildren, Asher and Emma Prangnell; nieces, Lindsey Tippit, and Cindy Parker; nephews, Chad Hill, Wayne Parker, Steven Parker, and James Parker; and extended family and numerous friends.

Brenda’s kindness and dedication to those around her will be deeply missed. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
