Kyle Stifflemire has advanced to the state track and field championships in Austin. The Gatesville senior hopes to close out his career with a gold medal in Austin. The Class 4A pole vault competition begins at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 11 at Mike M. Myers Track Complex on the campus of the University of Texas. Stiffl emire qualified with a 15-9 effort at the Huntsville regional. His personal best is 16-2 as a junior.
