On to state

The Gatesville Messenger 10U team went unbeaten in the district tournament. Members of the team are: (front row) Paydon Garrett, Rogan Smith, Kian Dingianni, Cash Heath; (second row) Blayze Fisher, Callen Webb, Branson Hodges, Grady Keeton, Gavin Klecka and Austyn Pickle; (third row) Brady Gist, Levi Villagrana and Brody Brown. Coaches are Waylon Pruitt, Eric Rockow and Chris Garrett.

Tucker Melton unleashes a pitch for Valet Cleaners. Melton is a solid pitcher and batted fourth in the lineup for Valet Cleaners.

Jonesboro High duo finishes at top

Jeffrey Morse took first place with five bass weighing 16.9 pounds to give Jonesboro High School’s bass team a one-two finish at the Central Texas High School Tournament Trail June 29 at Lake Buchanan.

Teammate Ethan Lilljedahl of the Jonesboro High School team finished second in the finale tournament of the season. Ethan Lilljedahl landed the big bass at 7.34 pounds and had five keepers weighing a total of 15.8 pounds.

The CTHSTT organization had monthly fi shing tournaments through the spring and early summer.
