Jonesboro’s Gallegos has won for decade
Eddie Gallegos is in his 11th season as head coach for the Jonesboro Eagles. Going into Friday’s second-round playoff game with Eden, he is 110-25 at Jonesboro. The Eagles have advanced to the playoffs 10 straight seasons with two trips to state finals in the stretch.
They lost in back-to-back seasons to Borden County in the finals in 2016 and 2017.
The school’s best record under Gallegos was in 2016 when they went 14-1. The Eagles have gone at least two rounds deep eight times in the 10-year run. With a win over the Eden Bulldogs, the Eagles will advance to the third round against either Nueces Canyon or May.
