Hornets shut out Glen Rose
Gatesville used its formula for success to stay aggressive Friday in its 9-0 shutout of the Glen Rose Tigers in a District 6-4A baseball battle at Gatesville High School.
Gatesville (12-7 overall, 2-2 in district) belted out 10 hits led by a 3-for-4 outing from second baseman Kody Hernandez and a two-hit, two-RBI outing by Jaryn Poynter.
Senior righthander Luke Mullins picked up the win on the mound, scattering seven hits while racking up eight strikeouts and one walk.
The team scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning and were in control throughout.
Glen Rose (0-4 in district) used three pitchers.
