Hornet boys take first in Bradley

Thoms runner-up in girls two-mile race

The Gatesville boys placed first in their own Bill Bradley Invitational cross-country meet Thursday on the GHS course.

The Hornets bested Lampasas, 104-106, to win the championship after several gliches were discovered in the original results, including the missplacement of Gatesville’s No. 3 runner, Mikes Barnes, who was originally placed 62nd instead of 23rd.

Salado was third with 142 points in the 13-team field that included all seven District 17-4A teams.

On the girls side, the Hornets placed sixth with 128 points well behind the 53 posted by team champion Salado.
