Hornet boys fall

Brownwood raced to a big lead in the first quarter and built a big halftime lead in the District 6-4A basketball opener for the Gatesville Hornets Tuesday. Brownwood prevailed, 70-41.
Banner Allman led the scoring for the Hornets with 16 points.
Logan Edwards and Jack Carroll added seven points each.
Brownwood scored 24 points in the first quarter to double up the Hornets going into the second quarter.
