Gatesville girls edge Connally

Hornet boys allow 11 treys, 92 points in blowout loss

Gatesville sophomore Alayna Washington took on the task of guarding Connally’s best shooter in Tuesday’s clash at Gatesville High School.

When the game bowled down to the finish Washington caught an errant pass for the game’s clinching turnover. Connally was trying to get the ball to Miannah Little, the team’s 5-foot-5 sophomore shooting guard who finished with 19 points to lead the Cadets.

Gatesville won, 42-40, to remain among the leaders in District 17-4A going into a Friday meeting with Hillsboro at Gatesville High School.
