Coach Howard anxious about return

“The Gatesville Hornets are ready to jump in with speed and conditioning camps for football,” said head football coach Luke Howard.

With the University Interscholastic League and the Texas High School Coaches Association overseeing the return to workouts for teams and athletes, the Hornets can start Monday, June 8, ending almost 10 weeks away from the field because of the Coronavirus epidemic.

The Hornets expect 120 athletes in the program in the top four grades for fall camp.

Howard said it will be exciting to get back with the athletes.

Howard said he has monitored the athletes and said he’s been pleased with their response.
