Baseball squad falls behind early

Gatesville fell behind quickly and could not overcome that early defi cit, as the Hornets suffered a 10-3 loss to Hillsboro Tuesday night in a District 17- 4A make-up game at Gatesville High School. Hillsboro scored twice in the opening frame and scored at least one run in all but one inning. After stranding four base runners in its fi rst four at-bats, GHS scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the fi fth. Seth Trotter led off with a double to right field, advanced to third on a bunt from Brennen Mata, and scored on Zach Mueller’s infi eld single.
