William Boyce (Bill) Brown
William Boyce (Bill) Brown, 91, left this earthly world to be with his Heavenly Father on July 1, 2019.
Funeral services were held on July 5, 2019, at the Tabernacle in Turnersville.
Burial followed at Turnersville Cemetery.
William Boyce (Bill) Brown was born to Francis Marion Brown and Elva Sexton Kent Brown in Joines, NC, on July 30, 1927. He spent his childhood years in Traphill and Stone Mountain, NC.
Bill joined the Army in August 1945. He served in World War II and the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was awarded a Bronze Star for his service in the Korean War. He retired after 21 years of military service in January 1966.
Following his military service, Bill worked at the Texas Department of Corrections for 24 years. After his retirement from TDC, he started a rural trash service.
Bill married Coleta Wallace on March 8, 1952, in Turnersville. They were married 67 years and blessed with four children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, LaVera; brother, Paul Brown; and sons, Alan Brown and Roger Lee Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Coleta Brown; daughter, Debra and husband, Steve; son, Gary and wife, Kim; one grandson, Shawn Conlin and wife, Julie; granddaughters, Kelli Mayon and husband, Mitch and Morgan Brown; and three greatgrandchildren, Hailey, Jalen and Alex.
