Wilda Louise Whisenhunt Jackson

Wilda Louise Whisenhunt Jackson passed from this life onto her eternal home with Jesus on Dec. 26, 2021. Funeral services for Wilda were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Restland Cemetery in Gatesville.

Wilda was born April 12, 1930, in Ater to Robert and Minnie Whisenhunt. She was the youngest of four daughters. She worked on the family farm until she married her sweetheart, Charles Elmer Jackson, on May 3, 1947. This union produced four fine sons. Wilda’s life goal was to help her husband and care for her family. They worked together at Roy’s Drive- In (Brownwood). Her hobbies included fishing, gardening, and canning. She was a member of Austin Avenue Church of Christ.

Wilda was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lee Whisenhunt; her mother, Minnie Louise (Farquhar) Whisenhunt; her husband of 69 years, Charles Jackson; sons, Roy Nelson Jackson, Elmer Lee Jackson, and Clois Daniel Jackson; sisters, Imogene Chauvin, Waldine Boswell, and Robbie Morton; and granddaughter, Kimberly VanMeter.

Survivors include her son Mike and wife, Lorenna (Lori) Jackson of Brownwood; grandsons, Robert Jackson, Matthew Jackson and wife, Lilly, and David Jackson all of Ft. Worth; great-grandsons, Chance VanMeter, Adam VanMeter of Lakeland, FL and Mason Jackson of Ft. Worth. She will be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews and great–nieces, great-nephews, and many friends.
