Mary Anne Williams, age 78, of Gatesville, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, in Waco.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, at St. John Lutheran Church in Coryell City, with Pastor Christopher Richmann officiating. Interment followed at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery. 

Mary Anne was born on July 1, 1944, in Oswego, New York to the late Clarence Smith and Hertha Weiss Smith. She grew up in McGregor and graduated from McGregor High School in 1962. She married John Macdonald in 1964 and later married Roy Wayne Williams in 1972. She worked at the Gatesville State School for Boys and then for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, retiring after over 30 years of service. She was a dedicated member of St. John Lutheran Church, serving as treasurer and bereavement coordinator for many years. Mary Anne was known as being feisty, mischievous, and sassy and loved life. Mary Anne had a true heart and was fiercely devoted to her family and friends. She loved being “Mimi” to her four grandchildren. Her spare time was spent reading, gardening, and being a faithful fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Wayne Williams in 2005. 

Mary Anne is survived by her children, Kaycie LeJune and husband Greg, John Macdonald and wife Lana, Barron Williams, and wife Emily; brother David Smith and wife Barby; and her four loving grandchildren, Kellsy Macdonald, Kris Macdonald, Jack Williams, and Michael LeJune.  She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
