SFC U.S. Army Ret. Lloyd Alexander of Evant, age 85, passed away March 15, 2020, in Waco, TX.
Private family military services will be held with Randall Rigney officiating and will have military pallbearers.
Lloyd was born on Feb. 18, 1935, in Kendallville, IN, to Robert Alexander and Treva Nine Alexander. He married Connie DeGarlais on April 23, 1960, in San Antonio.
Lloyd retired from the U.S. Army in 1972 after serving in Korea and two tours of duty in Vietnam. He worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse at Darnell Army Medical Center and later worked for Texas Department of Corrections as an LVN, also retiring from this position.
He was a member of Evant United Methodist Church and was also affiliated with the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, Korean War Veterans, Vietnam Veterans and the Association of Atomic Veterans.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Alexander and Treva Nine Alexander; and three brothers, Jim, Bob and Mark.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Alexander of Evant; his children, Robert R. Alexander of League City, Troy L. Alexander and wife, Yvette, of Holland, Lawrence Owen Alexander of Gatesville, Lloyd Alexander of Evant and Lynn Callan and husband, Raymond, of Evant; brothers, Kenneth Alexander of Kendallville, IN., and Jerry Alexander and wife, Carol, of Kendallville, IN; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to any Veterans organization in Lloyd’s memory.
Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home in Goldthwaite was in charge of the service.
