Linda Walter, age 74, of Oglesby, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at her home.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 27, at First Baptist Church in Oglesby, with Rev. Jerry Walters and Rev. Jeremy Sanders officiating. Interment followed at Comanche Springs Cemetery in McGregor.

Linda Kay Riddle Walter was born on March 7, 1949, in Gatesville, to the late Edwin and Frances King Riddle. She grew up in Coryell County and graduated from Oglesby High School in 1966. The summer after her graduation she married the love of her life, Charles Walter, at First Baptist Church of Oglesby, by Rev. Jerry Walters, where she was a lifetime member. Soon after, they settled down and began building a family of their own. Together they raised three children, Michael, Lisa, and Laura. Linda enjoyed being able to stay home while her children were young. Throughout her life, she had many jobs of service, including Cox’s Department Store, Goldstein Miguel, Texas Highway Department, Hillcrest Baptist Hospital, Gatesville Clinic, McGregor I.S.D., Oglesby I.S.D. and the Housing Authorities of both Oglesby and Moody. She loved children and each Sunday taught a children's class at her church and was often involved with Vacation Bible School and Wednesday night activities. She took great pride in caring for others and placing everyone before herself. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and attending their sporting events. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she ensured that each one of them felt special and loved. She and Charles enjoyed traveling to Hawaii periodically. They also enjoyed many trips with their children and grandchildren, including Navarre Beach, Florida, the Oregon coast, Colorado, Mt. Rushmore, Boston, New York City, and many places in Texas.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles Walter, of Oglesby; children, Mike Walter and wife, Julie, of Oglesby; Lisa San Miguel and husband, Shawn, of Northlake; Laura Preciado and husband, Andrew, of Gatesville; brother, Thomas Riddle, of Oglesby; grandchildren, Hunter Walter, Jordan Collins and husband, Logan; Megan San Miguel and friend, Ryan Zimmer; Logan San Miguel; Preston Preciado and friend, Darcy Carothers; Kennedy Preciado; and a great-grandson, Beckham Collins.
