August 28, 1948 – January 23, 2022

Kenneth Green, Jr. age 73, of the Turnersville community, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022, in Hamilton.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Matt Dossey officiating. Interment followed the services at Turnersville Cemetery.

Kenneth was born on August 28, 1948, in Marshall to the late Kenneth Bradford Green, Sr. and Doris Pohl Green. He grew up in Caldwell and Freeport, graduating from Freeport High School in 1966. After graduation, at the age of 18, he went to work for the Texas Department of Corrections and started his career that spanned 35 years until his retirement in 2001 as an Assistant Warden. After his retirement from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, he went to work as the Jail Administrator for the Coryell County Sheriff’s Department, until 2012. He was a member of Turnersville Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Sue Green, on June 25, 2014, and two brothers, Kent Green and Keith Green.

Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Jenny Haferkamp and husband, Jeremy; sister, Karen Schrom and husband, Bill; three grandchildren, Laston Haferkamp, David Key, Jr., Laekin Pierce; two great grandchildren, Olivia Williams and Avery Pierce.
