Gary Robert Beasley, 65, passed away on December 31 in his home in Schertz, Texas. He was the owner of Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville, Texas for almost 30 years. Gary also worked as a funeral director at Scott’s where it was his honor to serve his community and help other families in their time of need. He loved tinkering with old cars and even started a small car business in Gatesville after his retirement from Scott’s. His greatest love and joy was his family. His granddaughters, Logan and Maren, were the light of his life. Gary grew up in Gatesville, Texas, and attended Mortuary School in Dallas, Texas, before moving back to Gatesville and working at Scott’s Funeral Home. He and his wife, Debbie, were very active in the community and he loved helping and giving to children in need. They recently moved to Schertz, Texas, to be closer to their grandchildren. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Debbie Beasley. He is survived by his daughter, LaShawna Michael and “son” Whitt Michael, along with their two daughters, Logan and his “ best buddy” Maren. He is also survived by his brother, Clarence Beasley and wife, Sybil, along with his sister, Joyce Chesser and husband, Carl. Gary was a good friend, amazing father and the best grandfather any child could have. He was deeply loved and will be deeply missed, but he is now dancing in the arms of his life-long love, Debbie. A small graveside service will be held today (Saturday), January 7, at Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
