Dorothy Nell Barrington, age 96, of College Station, formerly of Gatesville, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, to join her husband and be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. David Crosby officiating. Interment followed the service at the Gatesville Masonic Cemetery.

Dorothy Nell Barrington was born on February 11, 1926, in Gatesville, to the late Bertrede Dewey and Bessie Featherston Clary. She grew up in Gatesville and married Gerrell Wayne Barrington on Jan. 21, 1943. They resided in south Texas, until moving back to Gatesville later in their married life. Her husband preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 2008.

Dorothy lived a full life serving in her church and was a former member in Gatesville of Trinity Baptist Church, Eastwood Baptist Church, and Live Oak Baptist Church. She was also an active member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter #1005 in Gatesville.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Danny Barrington, and brothers, Dewey D. Clary, and Billy Clary.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Gerry Barrington Foley and husband, Robert Foley, of Bryan; son, Bill Barrington and wife, Donna, of Kerens; sister, Bobbie Clary Ferrell of Gatesville; her adored five grandchildren, Chris Foley, Keri Foley, Melinda Barrington Hooks, Misti Barrington Harron, Christi Barrington Drilling; and nine great-grandchildren.
