Wreck claims life of Gatesville woman
A two vehicle crash Monday morning on FM 116 between Gatesville and Copperas Cove resulted in the death of a 30-year-old Gatesville woman.
The victim, Summer Hanebuth, was pronounced dead at the scene. A male juvenile passenger in Hanebuth’s car was transported to the McLane Children’s Scott & White Clinic by ambulance for treatment of non-incapacitating injuries.
According to Department of Public Safety spokesman Sergeant David Roberts, the collision occurred at approximately 6:57 a.m. when a 2001 Buick passenger car driven by Hanebuth was traveling south bound on FM 116. The car crossed over the center stripe when it collided with a 2017 Jeep SUV traveling north bound.
