Volunteers work to clean-up former African-American school in Gatesville

A group of volunteers, armed with chainsaws and clippers, recently assembled to uncover the old Carver school which, over time, had become overgrown with brush and trees.

The volunteers, led by Gatesville ISD Superintendent, Dr. Barrett Pollard, hauled away at least 12 trailer loads of brush that were cleared from the property.
