The Texas Department of Health Services is offering free COVID vaccine outreach and education to communities or groups in Coryell County.
The presentations discuss how the vaccine was developed, possible side effects and vaccine myths. The program is intended to answer questions for workplaces, churches or community groups.
According to DHSH data less than 30% of Coryell County residents have been fully vaccinated. This data does not include vaccinations reported at Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood.
As of Tuesday the hospitalization rate for Trauma Service Area L, which includes Coryell County, is at 12.1%. When the area reaches 15% it is considered a high hospitalization rate.
