Sports Round-up

Boys soccer: The Gatesville Hornets lost to Waxahachie Life 5-0 in the Class 4A bi-district playoffs. The Hornets, who were making their eighth postseason appearance in the last nine years, finished the season at 11-7-2 overall.

Softball: The Gatesville junior varsity defeated Crawford 13-2 and Troy 12-2 on the final day of the Crawford tournament.

Track and field: Gatesville High School’s Barrett Boyd (100 hurdles) and Carlo Martinez (3,200 meters) qualified for the Texas Relays at the University of Texas at Austin.

Boys basketball: GHS seniors Banner Allman and Tyler Shea were named to the Waco Tribune-Herald's Super Centex First Team.

Baseball: GHS lost to Robinson 14-2.

Track and field: Gatesville Junior High School results from Burnet Bulldog Relays - 8th grade girls 6th place with 28 points, 7th girls 7th place with 10 points, 8th boys 6th place with 28 points, 7th boys 7th place with 17.5 points.

Tennis: GHS hosts Day 1 of the District 23-4A tournament.  Junior varsity matches begin at 8 a.m., Varsity matches at 1 p.m., at the GHS tennis courts.  The top two finishers in each varsity division will advance to regional tournament.

Girls, boys, track and field: GHS competed in the Lorena Leopard Relays on March 30. GHS will have only one remaining meet (April 5 at Lampasas) prior to the District 23-4A meet April 12-13 at Waco Connally.
