Second man arrested in connection with Barnes murder
A Coryell County teenager is in jail accused of a murder-for-hire scheme.
Dakota Chayton Schramm, 18, arrested May 26 and held at the Coryell County Jail, is charged with “capital murder while remuneration,” according to a court document.
Schramm is accused of shooting to death 76-year-old Leonard Carroll Barnes. According to a court document, the deceased’s grandson, Kaleb Jeremiah Johnson-Barnes, 19, promised Schramm a piece of his inheritance if he killed his grandfather.
