OJHS Tigers pummel Priddy, 55-7

The Oglesby Junior High School Tigers posted a 55-7 football blowout victory over Priddy, Oct. 6 at home.

The Tigers pulled off the lop-sided win despite being without the services of three starters — running backs Aiden Oxford and Holdyn Goff, and end Kayson Campbell. However, the Tigers never missed a beat in dominating the Pirates. Every player for the Tigers contributed to the win. 

Couper Wulfkhule led all rushers with four carries for 72 yards, and two touchdown runs of 35 yards and 17 yards. He also had 65-yard touchdown run nullified on holding penalty. 

Jayce Aaron had two carries for 50 yards, and two touchdown runs of 35 yards and 15 yards, Aaron also added a pair of point-after conversion kicks. 

Ashton Thompson caught a 10-yard touchdown pass and caught two extra-point pass conversions. 

Logan Ewing caught a 20-yard touchdown pass and a pair of point-after pass conversions. 

Quarterback Blayze Fisher completed three of 10 passes for 90 yards and one touchdown. 

Rylan Hughes was the leading receiver with two 3-yard receptions. 

Josue Rodriquez had a 15-yard touchdown run, and one extra-point conversion run. 

Defensive standouts for Oglesby included:

Blayze Fisher recorded three solo tackles, five assists and returned an interception for a 30-yard touchdown. 

Logan Ewing had two solo tackles, one assist and a fumble recovery in the end zone for touchdown. 

Mason Marquez had one solo tackle, one assist and an interception he returned 40 yards for touchdown. 

Jaxon Markum had two solo tackles — two quarterback sacks for losses of 10 and 20 yards. 

Also on defense for OJHS: Jayce Aaron had one solo tackle and one assist; Javon Howard had solo tackle and one assist; Abram Shaw had one solo tackle; Rylan Hughes had one assist; Couper Wulfkhule had one assist; Ashton Thompson had one assist; and Josue Rodriquez had three assists.

Next, the Tigers are slated to play at home on Oct. 13 against the Abbott Panthers, with the kickoff set for 6 p.m.
