Mound lost one of its residents, Mrs. Anita Raye (Coward) Jones, who died on Wednesday, April 27. Graveside services were held Saturday at Turnersville Cemetery. Mrs. Jones will truly be missed in our community.

Miss Aubree Ann Long was honored on her sixth birthday with a (Bash) Party last Saturday with a fish fry, s’mores, and lots of fun.

Nancy Dixon and Barbara Hopson spent last Tuesday night in Rockwall with Holly Pullen and family. While there, they attended Truett and Jacklyn Pullen’s Providence Academy Fine Arts Program Tuesday evening in Rockwall.

Mrs. Polly West, Christopher and Jennifer Eberlein went to Kickapoo State Park near Brackettville, and to South Llano River State Park near Junction this past weekend.

A fire started on County Road 385 last Saturday. Kathy Brase’s dog alerted her, and she was able to call the fire department and assist in putting it out herself. It only made it far enough to burn a cedar fence post before it was put out.

Caymbri Fisher went to Cameron Park Zoo in Waco on a first grade field trip.

Don and Sue Jones hosted the Jones Reunion last Sunday afternoon at the Don and Sue Jones roping pen. There were 25 people in attendance.

Don and Sue Jones hosted the Barnard Reunion Sunday for lunch at the Mound Cowboy Church. There was a good attendance of 60 members present.

Emma Blakley of College Station came home Thursday to celebrate her mother Carolyn’s birthday.

Carolyn Blakley was honored for her birthday with a dinner at the home of Jerry and Brenda Helms.

On Thursday, some of Carolyn Blakley’s coworkers took her to lunch.

Carolyn and Emma Blakley had dinner in Waco Friday.

Jerry and Brenda Helms met Emma Blakley in Waco and had lunch and did some shopping Friday.

Valerie Ferrell and Carolyn Blakley had lunch together Friday in Gatesville.

Several people from Mound attended the Gatesville Junior High School National Honor Society Awards program last Tuesday evening in Gatesville. Anna Grace McPherson is the daughter of Mark and Kelli McPherson, and the grandparents are David and Pam Hopson, Beth Haines and Janet McPherson.

Several seniors and juniors from Mound attended their 2022 Gatesville High School Prom last Saturday evening in Gatesville at the Texas Station Event Center. This year’s King and Queen of the Prom were Zane Foster and Cera Toucher.
