President’s speech cited among highlights of the trip

Millions of people watched via television as Donald Trump became the president of the United States, and hundreds of thousands crowded the capital to witness the event in person.

At least five local residents were among those who were there in person. Coryell County Republican Party Chairman Jack Barcroft and his daughter, Aubrey, fl ew into Washington, D.C., on Jan. 18 for a four-day stay.

Jennifer Tennison, along with her son, Branton, friend Lexi Baldwin, all of Gatesville and cousin, Donna Smith, of McGregor, chose to drive the 1,400 miles.
