GISD releases end of year scores, tax rates
The Gatesville ISD Board of Trustees reported their End of Year Reading and Math Inventory Scores during the recent school board meeting held on Monday, July 23.
Barrett Pollard, Ed.D, assistant superintendent of academics, informed the board that kindergarten-seventh grade students last year showed a total of 35 percent of students reading above grade level, 30 percent at or near grade level and 35 percent below grade level through the scores gleaned from composite Benchmark Assessment System testing held in May.
“We are still striving to reduce the number of students who are reading below level. However, our students have made great strides in improving their reading ability over the course of the school year,” Pollard noted in his presentation.
