GISD board approves new protocols

The Gatesville Independent School District Board of Trustees held a regular meeting on Monday, March 22.

Changes to mask policy

The board first addressed Governor Greg Abbott’s recent executive order regarding the wearing of masks. GISD made a list of recommendations that they hoped would balance continuing safety along with lifting some of the more stringent requirements.

Changes to COVID protocols

The recommendations for Safety Protocols and Learning with regard to COVID-19 were as follows:

1. GISD ‘s current recommendation is to continue the current mask policy for students and staff until the end of the school year in May.
