GISD approves 4-H program, talks budget
The Gatesville Independent School District Board of Trustees held a special meeting on Thursday, Aug. 27, at the Administration building. Social distancing was practiced during the meeting and masks were worn.
GISD superintendent, Dr. Barrett Pollard presented an update to the board including the extracurricular status of the 4-H Organization Resolution to appoint adjunct faculty.
Pollard reminded the board that every year they approve a resolution that allows 4-H to be considered an extracurricular activity and that each year they approve the Coryell County Extension Staff to be considered “adjunct faculty” with GISD. This allows students to be considered “in attendance” when participating in off-campus activities with adjunct staff members of the district.
Pollard also reminded the board that these extension agents all hold bachelor degrees. The local agents are Robert Ferguson, Becky Coward and Donna Schwausch.
