Furry new deputy joins CCSO
The Coryell County Sheriff’s Department has a new deputy. His name is Kraken (pronounced crackin). Kraken joined the force early last week when Coryell County Sheriff Scott Williams and K9 Deputy Mike Gonzales traveled to Houston K9 Academy to welcome the newest deputy to the CCSO.
K9 Kraken is a dual purpose K9 that has been trained in patrol tactics and narcotics detection and will serve as a member of the patrol division of the sheriff’s department.
Kraken was obtained by a grant awarded to the CCSO from K9s-4Cops, a nonprofit organization that provides trained K9s to law enforcement agencies across the nation.
