Election update 2019
The Oglesby City Council will not hold an election this year as all incumbents have fi led to fi ll their seats for another two-year term. This year, the mayor position and two open council seats were up for re-election. As the fi ling deadline closed on Monday, Aug. 19, Mayor Bruce Pomerenke and council members Robin Gomez and Ray McEnroe filed for re-election with no other candidate opposing them.
This means that only the Gatesville Independent School District and the Gatesville City Council will be hosting elections for the Tuesday, Nov. 5 election day.
GISD has two open board of trustee seats this year. Both of the incumbents for the seats, Mary Ann Leib and Cheyenne Kizer have fi led for re-election as well as new seat-seeker Brenda Byrom.
The only contested seat that requires an election for the Gatesville City Council is Ward 1 Place 1, currently held by Councilman David Mitchell.
