Early county budget shows no tax rate change
A proposed budget posted last week for Coryell County shows an increase of approximately $2.3 million while keeping the tax rate at the same level as the previous year.
The proposed budget lists expenditures of over $25.9 million compared to $23.6 million for the current fiscal year. The budget shows a deficit of almost $2.7 million; however, with a projected beginning fund balance of more than $8.6 million, commissioners expect to end the next fi scal year with a fund balance of about $5.9 million.
