County discusses law enforcement center

The Coryell County Commissioners’ Court took the next step in developing plans for a county law enforcement center during the court’s Monday meeting.

The concept was discussed last week during a special workshop session to look at the county’s long term facility needs.

The court identifi ed the fi rst draft of what offices would be housed in the center if it is constructed. According to a list presented by Coryell County Judge Roger Miller, most all departments of the Coryell County Sheriff’s Department, with the exception of jail functions, would move to the proposed center.

The Justice of Peace offi ces for Precinct 3 and 4 and a JP courtroom along with the Constable’s offi ces could move into the center. Commissioners also discussed moving the county’s Emergency Management office as well.
