Coryell County native recounts decades of friendship, travels with Loretta Lynn in book
A Coryell County native has shared a glimpse into her longtime friendship with country music legend Loretta Lynn in a new book.
Rosie Hamilton, who was born in Gatesville in 1938 and attended school at Flat, wrote “My Friend Loretta Lynn” after much encouragement from friends and family to share stories about her friendship and travels with Lynn.
Hamilton, née Gober, left Flat in 1954 and went to live with her older sister in Arizona shortly after their mother passed away.
