Commissioners vote for bond election on new jail
Commissioner’s met to discuss past, present and future events, with a major topic on this agenda being whether or not to present a new jail and a new justice building on an upcoming bond election in May.
This topic has been discussed in depth over the past few years and after much discussion, planning and cost evaluation, the matter before the Commissioners in this meeting is whether or not to present the item to the public for a vote.
The cost of the proposed justice center or Coryell County Government Building is estimated at $18,720,000.
The cost of the proposed jail is estimated at $30,900,000.
