Commissioners meet telephonically
Coryell County Commissioners held their regular meeting telephonically Monday to comply with Governor Greg Abbott’s executive order that bars gatherings of more than 10 people, among other restrictions.
During the meeting, Commissioners addressed routine county business and approved a donation from Premier Canine for three Bail Out Systems for the Coryell County Sheriff’s Office K-9 handlers’ vehicles that feature remote door opening and temperature monitoring/alerting system at no cost to the county, before turning their focus to the county’s response to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
Commissioners extended the county’s Declaration of Local Disaster to April 3, in conjunction with the governor’s guidance. The amended declaration orders compliance with the governor’s executive order and noted that while all county government functions will remain open and publicly accessible, each elected or appointed official or department head may limit direct contact with the public.
