Commissioners lift burn ban, discuss jail project
Coryell County Commissioners temporarily lifted the county’s burn ban and discussed the status of the proposed new jail and law enforcement center during their Monday meeting.
The ban on outdoor burning that has been in effect for Coryell County since August was lifted for the next two weeks but commissioners will revisit the status at their next regular meeting, scheduled for 9 a.m. Nov. 12.
“Conditions will be assessed on a daily basis to determine the need for a burn ban,” County Judge Roger Miller stated in a release on Tuesday. “As a reminder, no burning is permitted if winds are forecast to be 23 mph or greater.”
