City Council meets to discuss city plans for future
Gatesville City Council recently met to discuss actions that are being taken and may be taking the future for the betterment of the city and its residence.
After the meeting was called to order and the pledge and prayer were completed, Gatesville City Mayor Gary Chumley opened the floor for the citizen’s forum and to give any citizen the chance to speak with council members.
No one from the public was present to speak and the floor went to Gatesville City Manager Bill Parry.
Parry then began discussion and possible action regarding an Ordinance of the City of Gatesville refunding the Series 2011 Certificates of Obligation and issuance of City of Gatesville “General Obligation Refunding Bonds, Taxable Series 2021” for interest rate savings (Ordinance 2021-02).
The background information explains that in Oct. of 2011, the city issued $8,005,000 in Tax & Utility system Surplus Certificates of Obligation (Taxable) to finance Phase II of upgrades to the city’s water system.
