Citizens notice increases in appraisals

The annual appraisal notice for property owners in Coryell County was mailed early this week from the Coryell Central Appraisal District (CCAD) and citizens likely noticed an increase in the appraised value of their home.

According to Mitch Fast, chief appraiser, 2019 had the most change in appraised values in the past ten years.

For Coryell County, the Estimated Freeze Adjusted Taxable Value increased by a little less than four percent from last year. That amount may increase when CCAD releases certified values later this year. According to information released this week, the Evant Independent School District showed the greatest percentage increase at 8.42 percent for Estimated Freeze Adjusted Taxable Value with the total net taxable value increasing from $59.2 million to $66.4 million.
