CAD issues appraisal notices, market values up
Property owners should receive an appraisal notice from the Coryell Central Appraisal District soon if they have not already. Coryell CAD mailed out 28,809 appraisal notices on March 26 and Appraisers are preparing to hear from property owners.
The values listed on the appraisal notice are what the city, county, school district and other local taxing units will use to set an individual’s 2021 property taxes.
“Market values as determined by Coryell CAD trended upward for the 2021 appraisal year,” Coryell CAD Chief Appraiser Mitch Fast said in a press release. “Coryell CAD researched over 1,350 market transactions in the 2021 appraisal process.”
Market values in the Coryell County Taxing entity have risen 10.87 percent over last year. Gatesville ISD has seen an increase of 9.20 percent under its tax entity. The City of Gatesville is up 8.83 percent over 2020.
Property sales within the county are down, but the sale prices are up 22.54 percent from 2020.
